Sorry, yes, you are right, only "<setup> true/false" has been changed. I forgot to mention it because I copied the openfire.xml content before change this tag.
Following the same idea, I tried change daemon to root owner in openfire.xml, but I got the same result, the Openfire lost config again.

You should re-use the connection to preserve resources. I've uploaded Prevent GC of connection within pingServerIfNecessary() · Flowdalic/Smack@810e7c8 · GitHub for Smack 4.2 which should fix the issue.
I also recommend updating to the latest stable version of Smack, or even trying the latest 4.2 beta version (if it's possible for you to run a beta version).

Hola amigos, un gusto saludarles, soy nuevo en la comunidad y tengo ya 7 años de trabajar con OpenFire y Spark IM.
La necesidad que tengo en este momento es que estamos migrando todos los servicios de la red local de servidores Windows a Servidores MAC, Obviamente porque son mucho mejores, pero quiero ahorrarme todo el proceso de configuración del OpenFire en el nuevo servidor MAC, por eso quiero saber si alguien me puede indicar como hacer la migración del OpenFire que tengo instalado en el servidor Windows al Servidor MAC.

SIr wroot thanks, i can ping and configure my server in a client workstation. I reinstalled and rebuild my configurations as SIr Guus der Kinderen suggested. Now Im testing it locally in our network. Will go live after a series of testing.

Hi all,
I followed all the instructions when installing the ofmeet plugins, got them configured and setup. I'm on Openfire Server v4.0.2, on a Server 2008 box with MySQL. I've got LDAP binding in place.
I can navigate to https://myserver:7443/ofmeet
Type the name of the new conference room and proceed. I get my own webcam/mic etc..
When I click share I get the dreaded "Your conference is currently being created...."
No rooms appear in the Openfire admin page, under the meetings section.

I had something similar - I used the guides I posted in my question:
Openfire 3.9.3 AD Connection Issue
I should add the plugin version i'm on is v0.3.9
It tried upgrading to the latest available on GTIHub (v0.3.23) - but that was all over the place! The VC control buttons would appear at the screen you type the room name in, then wouldn't let me progress from there into the room.
I've currently removed that and gone back to v.0.3.9

Já sou um usuário habitual do openfire, inclusive já tenho um serviço rodando em meu ambiente com o seguinte cenário: Ubuntu 14, openfire 3.7, banco MySQL e integração com AD. Resolvi subir uma nova instalação para outro ambiente, usando o seguinte ambiente Ubuntu 16, Openfire 4.0.3, Mysql 5.7 e posteriormente integração com AD, mais não inicia o serviço do openfire de jeito nenhum.
A instalação está na seguinte pasta: /opt/openfire/

Guus, correct me if I'm wrong, but that looks like a DNS and S2S issue. my guess is the client is using a cname or something as "server" address, instead of the xmpp domain, which is prob causing the issue
after updating the sasl methods, what errors are you seeing in spark?
I am using openfire server in my iOS App . some time my user does not goes online even i connect from my iPhone App.
some time when one user goes online the other went offline from the panel.
Could precise that information. Where do I find the table, because I wasn't able to connect to mysql and had to take the internal database.
