About the getDomain() Function in a ComponentPlugin

Hello everybody,

I'd like to know if I have to return a static value from the getDomain() Function or if I could first establish a Database Connection and read it from there. The "getDomain" is not necessary for "installing" the plugin...or is it?

I hope you can help me out here.
